Focus on your strengths. That’s one of the best pieces of business advice Phillips has received. And that’s exactly what he has done at ESPN. For years, he has driven programming for ESPN3, and now with ESPN Cricket 2015, he has created a gateway for multicultural sporting events that may otherwise not have made it to the small screen. He plays a key role in some of the most active and innovative digital video initiatives in media today.

What’s your biggest professional accomplishment in the past 12 months?

Leading some of ESPN’s innovative efforts in creating additive offerings to fans, including its first live and on-demand subscription streaming service for the 2015 ICC Cricket World Cup and Pepsi Indian Premier League.

The workforce has to become more reflective of society. Diversity brings new perspectives and new thinking to an organization.
