Albrecht and his partner in programming crime Zlotnik—also a team back in their HBO days—have significantly upped Starz’s originals during the past several years, and now the net is reaping the rewards. In 2015 the count is at 65-70 hours of original programming, with “Black Sails,” “Da Vinci’s Demons,” “Power” and “Outlander” at the top of the list—with more to come in 2016 and beyond. Moreover, the company is launching its first Starz-branded venture abroad with Starz Play International, an OTT play at an affordable price point.
