Over the years, Charter has grappled with financial strife and other issues. Yet many employees have stuck it out through good times and bad, and now the future’s looking especially bright with ex-Cablevision domino Tom Rutledge firmly at the reigns. The company already offers numerous perks, including its 401K match, tuition reimbursement, day-care discounts, telecommuting options and in-house training under Charter University. But it’s the employee testimonials that impress us every year. “As a long-time employee of Charter and its predecessors, I have seen many changes over the years,” says one employee. “The company has had periods of struggle, yet its commitment to employees to provide the best support and benefits hasn’t wavered, despite the cost of providing such programs.” Says another: “I wish I had found Charter 20 years ago.” And one worker excited about the new management put it this way: “Watch our dust over the next few years!” We will.
