He recently served as board member of Rev2, a startup focused on risk management software and an advisory board member of embed UR, startup focused on embedded software technology.

What’s your biggest professional accomplishment in the past 12 months?

Best business advice you’ve received?

Change is constant, especially in technology, customer needs, and competitive threats. Never become complacent, paranoia is good. Focus on continuous learning and improvement.

How do you define diversity?

Diversity simply refers to characteristics that make us different from one another, whether it demographics, culture, age, religion, gender or something else. Beyond this simple definition of diversity we get to the larger issue of the need to be inclusive and welcome the diverse inputs of team members. This will ensure continuous innovation and continued market leadership in our industry.

How can cable better support diversity?

We tend to focus on demographic diversity when we talk about inclusiveness in the cable industry and cable needs continued improvement in reflecting the demographics of the communities they serve, especially in the executive ranks.

What’s been the biggest story in cable this year?

The continued consolidation of the industry and the multiple gyrations this had undergone. The effects continue to reverberate throughout the entire ecosystem including suppliers, programmers. competitors, and regulatory bodies.

How do you define success?

Success is steadily making progress towards your goals, long and short term, while keeping a healthy balance in your life. A good mix of work and play engenders a satisfaction within oneself and creates a positive influence on those around you.
