It’s been a busy year for Cambpell, who led the charge for Discovery’s raised stake in Eurosport International in March 2014. He also was instrumental in the acquisitions of indie production houses All3Media (in conjunction with Liberty Global) and Raw. On top of the major deals, Campbell’s job has expanded to include Discovery’s U.S. and international digital media businesses, making him responsible for the company’s digital media strategy. Fun fact you may not know about the exec: he played on the Princeton football team.
I watch most programming on this device: I love my iPad and iPhone, but nothing beats the big screen for great programming and sports.
Should the industry embrace or reject “virtual MSOs” and why? Embrace, so long as the model compensates content owners fairly.
Apple iWatch or Rolex? I’d never bet against Apple, but I don’t think I can handle another screen right now.
Favorite TV show as a kid? “The White Shadow,” must-see-TV for the junior high set in Riverside, Ca., circa 1980.
The last time I had a good laugh was… My daughters and I loved following the “Brother Orange” saga on Buzzfeed. A wonderful (and hilarious) example of the power of digital media.
