Roberts’ team closed dozens of key business deals this year, from extending and expanding Ryan Seacrest’s contract to securing high-end original programing for USA, Bravo, and E! She also played a role in Andy Cohen’s deal that officially transitions him from TV executive to on-air talent. “Success truly is in the eye of the beholder. Be clear about what you want and go after it,” she says. “Don’t fall into the trap of judging yourself by others’ accomplishments.”

How can cable do better job at supporting the industry’s women? 

I don’t think it’s “cable’s job” – it’s all of our jobs to encourage, mentor, promote – to share our experiences and our wisdom with the current as well as next generation of women in cable.

What’s been the biggest story in cable this year? 

TV Everywhere.  It’s actually becoming real…

How do you define a successful career?
