Senior Director, Data Science, Comcast Enterprise Business Intelligence

Litvinas is not afraid to break tradition in order to maximize data efficiency. Through his team’s efforts, the company was able to save time and increase marketing ROI. He did this by creating an integrated model rather than using separate ones, personalizing messages to different segments, developing a tool that allowed changes based on business needs, and by removing harmful marketing targets and focusing on more likely targets. Through these changes, Litvinas and his team have saved time and money. The key to his success is being “futuristic, and set[ting] goals and milestones,” which allow him to prioritize and focus on every project.

What is the one habit that makes you most successful?

If I had to attribute one thing to success within my career it would be extreme focus. I am extremely futuristic, and set goals and milestones for nearly every project I take on. Once I set those targets, I have a laser focus on whatever is necessary to achieve those goals. I frequently take time to reflect on my progress, and align my efforts to make sure that I am maximizing everything within my purview to accomplish those goals. I am fortunate to say that to date I have been able to accomplish nearly every goal I have set, and I would say the predominant reason why is the ability to focus immensely on what needs to be done and to prioritize my efforts accordingly.

What product or service can you not live without?

Starbucks tea lattes—I think that there would be a noticeable hit on Starbucks’ revenue if I had to go cold turkey!

What is the most exciting thing about working in this industry?

The rate of change—in my two years working in Cable I’ve already seen such tremendous change and that is something that I do not expect to decelerate. As a consultant prior to joining Comcast, I’ve been fortunate to be exposed to a myriad of different industries and companies. I can say with certainty that none of them are as exciting and as dynamic as Cable with the introduction of OTT services, acquisition of media, etc.
