Becky Jones
Chief Marketing & People Officer, Viamedia
Known for her motivational, uplifting approach to business, this self-professed “chief cheerleader” encourages employee feedback to find ways to continue improving corporate culture and morale while making Viamedia an even more efficient operation. She recently developed an email and lead-generating platform for the company’s account executives, and oversaw the total revamp of the company website. Commissioning a study to delve into local TV trends was an important facet to ensuring Viamedia better serves the needs of local advertisers. Asked what advice she’d give her younger self, Jones says, “True friends love and support you no matter what. Don’t spend so much time worrying about those who don’t.”
What advice would you give your 13-year-old self?
True friends love and support you no matter what. Don’t spend so much time worrying about those who don’t.
Which current programming best reflects the kind of women’s roles you like to see and why?
Although it’s not on cable, I’m a huge fan of Kerry Washington in “Scandal.” She’s smart, fierce, goes after what she wants and gets the job done.
What’s been the biggest story in cable this year?
Biggest story… the political coverage… best story… “SNL’s” take on the political coverage.
