Cohen was pivotal in securing a venture with the Philadelphia Phillies, including a long-term media rights deal making Comcast SportsNet Philadelphia the Phillies’ primary television partner.  She feels TV Everywhere is cable’s story of the year: “It’s emblematic of the evolving TV landscape and how programmers and distributors alike are figuring out ways to adapt to consumer viewing habits and continue to deliver value in a changing world.”

How can cable do better job at supporting the industry’s women?

Provide women with resources to not only support each other, but also avenues to obtain support and mentoring from men.  Women role models are important for development and advancement, but it is crucial for women to work with men that are their champions and make a point of exposing them to new opportunities that they might not otherwise have.

What’s been the biggest story in cable this year?

I think the biggest story in cable this year is the wholesale rollout of TV Everywhere.  It’s emblematic of the evolving TV landscape and how programmers and distributors alike are figuring out ways to adapt to consumer viewing habits and continue to deliver value in a changing world.

Best trick for maintaining the personal-professional life balance?

I do not employ this frequently enough, but the best trick is to know when to leave the device behind.
