What makes you most excited about this industry as you advance in your career?
I am very excited about the immense growth and change that is happening in the industry. Not only are the budgets for television shows growing, but so is the talent. Now you are seeing big film stars in television shows that you would never see on television in the past. Also, with the new trend of over-the-top content and subscriptions, I know we are going to be seeing a lot more new wave companies that produce, distribute and aggregate online content, and that makes me very excited.
What would be your ultimate dream job?
Founder and CEO of one of the new wave companies mentioned above.
Who has been your biggest mentor and why?
Michael Schwimmer, CEO of NUVOtv/Fuse. He is my biggest mentor because he has a career path I want to follow. He started his career as an attorney and is now the CEO of two growing networks. Also, even though he is incredibly busy (running two networks and raising two children), he still finds time to talk with me and teach me things about the company and business in general. He has taught me a lot about the cable industry, our company and being a professional.
What three things can’t you live without?
My family, books (especially autobiographies) and my iPhone.
