Title:  Chairman, Buckeye Cablevision & Block Communications

Years in Cable: 30

Education: University of Pennsylvania

Best Advice in 7 Words or Less: Take care of the customer first.

Block brings three decades of experience to his position, which has helped successfully lead the only independent cable company that’s serving a metropolitan area to great heights. He’s established the “cloud” of tomorrow for residents of northwest Ohio and southeast Michigan. Two qualities that best describe Block are intelligence and tenacity. If he sees a problem with an issue, then he and his colleagues do not rest until it is solved to their customers’ needs.

I watch most programming on this device:

Flat screen TV

Should the industry embrace or reject “virtual MSOs” and why? If the rate of programming price increases doesn’t slow, all TV is going to be delivered over the top in which case virtual MSOs would become a possibility.

If I had a show on YouTube it would be called… “Hello Suckers”

Favorite screen: Regular TV flat screen

Apple iWatch or Rolex? Rolex

I wish Congress would just… repeal the retransmission consent law to promote the interests of average cable subscribers at home.

If my office produced a viral video, the background music would be… Prussian Military March

My “Real Housewives” catch-phrase is…  Nothing is real about the Real Housewives.

Favorite Cable Show memory: Tom Wheeler, president of the NCTA, at the 1983 convention (my first) giving a rousing speech in favor of cable legislation that finally passed Congress a year later as the Cable Act.

Favorite vacation spot:
Positano, Italy, on the Amalfi Coast

Favorite TV show as a kid: “Hogan’s Heroes”

Dish I can make and that would impress a celebrity chef: Nothing
