Block brings three decades of experience to his position, which has helped successfully lead the only independent cable company that’s serving a metropolitan area to great heights. He’s established the “cloud” of tomorrow for residents of northwest Ohio and southeast Michigan. Two qualities that best describe Block are intelligence and tenacity. If he sees a problem with an issue, then he and his colleagues do not rest until it is solved to their customers’ needs.

Should the industry embrace or reject “virtual MSOs” and why? If the rate of programming price increases doesn’t slow, all TV is going to be delivered over the top in which case virtual MSOs would become a possibility.

Favorite Cable Show memory: Tom Wheeler, president of the NCTA, at the 1983 convention (my first) giving a rousing speech in favor of cable legislation that finally passed Congress a year later as the Cable Act.
