Alan Breznick joined Heavy Reading, the research arm oftelecom publisher Light Reading, in April 2007. He focuses on the cable TV market, including cable technologies, businesses, networks, products, and services. He also tracks IPTV infrastructure, technologies, and services.

Breznick moved over to Heavy Reading from Light Reading, where he edited the Cable Digital News Web site and industry newsletter for more than four years. In that post, he was also the founding author of Light Reading’s Cable Industry Insider reports.

Formerly a contributing analyst for Kinetic Strategies, One Touch Intelligence, Consumer Electronics Association, and Paul Kagan Associates,Breznick has covered the cable, telecom, broadband, media, and consumer electronics markets for more than 20 years. As a journalist, he reported for Crain’s New York BusinessCommunications DailyMultichannel NewsCable World, and Communications Technology magazine. He also contributed articles to such major consumer publications as the New York Times, Washington Post, Business Week, and Newsday. He is based in the Toronto area.
