Technical Operations Coordinator, Viamedia

Lynch has a creative mind and is always thinking up new designs, from costumes and Lego wall art, to developing new software for Viamedia. His recent project—Jarvis—supports the Technical Operations department by monitoring the health of ad servers. He’s a member of the OTT RPF team, where he helped serve as a deciding factor on which companies Viamedia chooses to partner with. Lynch is great at serving others as well, bringing his department together to volunteer at CASA, which works with abused and neglected children. The first social platform Lynch checks each day is Instagram, “I follow a variety of artists ranging from comic book creators to woodworkers,” who he says he draws his inspiration from.

What is the one habit that makes you most successful?

If there’s one habit that’s contributed most to my success, it’s my approach to problem solving. I’ve always enjoyed problem solving and it’s driven me to learn so many new skills, whether I’m tinkering with computers, video encoding, costume designing or woodworking. I love challenging myself and learning new things, which has been a great asset throughout my life.

The first social platform or website you visit after waking up in the morning?

I have recently found myself checking Instagram.  I follow a variety of artists ranging from comic book creators to woodworkers, and as a creative individual, I draw inspiration from their work and enjoy checking up on their current projects.

What sort of culture is important to you in the workplace?

Our Tech Operations team is quite small and close-knit, so we work incredibly well together and I love that I’m able to call my co-workers friends.

What is the most exciting thing about working in this industry?

One of the things I like most about my job is that no two days are alike. For example, one day I might be developing a program to help automate a task, and the next I’m helping integrate ad insertion on an IPTV system. This provides an exciting work environment and allows me to challenge myself both personally and professionally.
