Zhone Technologies says its new zNID 24xx GE Optical Network Terminals (ONTs) – Active Ethernet indoor ONTs – are now available.

“Following the launch of the zNID GPON indoor ONTs last month, we are pleased to introduce our new zNID Active Ethernet indoor ONTs,” said Brian Caskey, chief marketing officer of Zhone, in a statement.

Integrating and leveraging the Zhone Management System (ZMS) and Zhone EZ Touch Provisioning System, the new indoor ONTs are ideal for distances up to 20 kms, provide multiple POTS and GE port options, Wi-Fi and IP video support, wire-speed bridging and routing functionality and can be deployed on the desktop or wall-mounted.?

The new zNID GE/AE 24xx family includes the following three products, all providing Active Ethernet, targeted at the indoor residential market segment:

  • ZNID-GE-2402: 2 GE LAN ports
  • ZNID-GE-2424: 4 GE LAN ports
  • ZNID-GE-2426:  2 POTS ports, 4 GE LAN ports, 802.11n WiFi, USB
