Name: Jason Kilar
Title: CEO, Hulu

Age: 36

Years in Industry: “10 in consumer Internet.”

Why Him? We may be getting a little ahead of ourselves here. After all, as the new CEO of NBCU and News Corp’s still-gestating Hulu venture, Kilar hasn’t had the opportunity to wow us yet with his managerial or strategic prowess. Still, we’re giving him a spot in the 100 as recognition of the huge “potential” power he may soon wield—considering the fact that some analysts have dubbed Hulu as a “YouTube killer.” Both NBCU and News Corp have denied as much (and are even talking to YouTube about potential partnership opportunities). But one thing is certain:  The entire world is watching Hulu closely and wondering whether it will be able to overcome the array of “unsanctioned” Web sites and services that trade in copyrighted premium TV content. Kilar’s major challenge: making Hulu “cool” and not overly corporate—a feat that has tripped up many others in the past. No pressure, Jason.  MG
