Widevine has announced it will be collaborating with Rovi Corporation to make Widevine’s adaptive streaming, interactive DVD/Blu-ray features and DRM technologies available in CE devices powered by Rovi’s TotalGuide. Widevine’s software solution will be supported by Rovi’s next generation media guide, designed to help consumers navigate broadcast, broadband and personal content from one user interface, streamlining the development of digital entertainment devices for chip and device manufacturers. The agreement includes the ability for Rovi to resell Widevine’s technology.
