Ops vs Programmers: Women are rising faster and more consistently at programmers than at operators surveyed in WICT’s PAR Initiative. The number of women managers overall at programming companies nearly quadrupled from 11.2% in ’03 to 42.6%. The percentage of women of color who were managers at programmers grew to 9.68% from 2.56%. On the operator side, women managers stayed even vs last year. Women account for 37.6% of operator employees (stable with ’03) and are being drawn into mgmt at the same proportion. Women of color did not gain or lose ground last year.
