French CE manufacturer Thomson unveiled 11 new HDTV set models Wed, most of which will feature digital cable-ready circuitry. Others will offer Web-surfing over TV options. The sets, which will ship under the Scenium brand, will be in stores this fall. Most can be used with a CableCard. Suggested retail prices run from $3,699-$9,999. Thomson and TCL (which will soon merge) rolled in their respective CEOs—Charles Dehelly and Tomson Li—for a NY briefing, but whisked them away before reporters could fire off any questions. – Simon Applebaum
