MTV’s getting creative with its Comcast VOD deal, releasing 5-min vignettes called "Real World San Diego: The S#$! They Should’ve Shown." The 4 VOD offerings of never-before- seen "Real World" footage tout the "RW Philly" series, which kicks off next week. MTV’s also pushing Sun’s "Video Music Awards" with short on-demand clips of past award show highlights. — Comcast and C-SPAN will provide approx 20 major speeches from the Republican convention on the MSO’s VOD service; the 2 offered similar coverage of the Dem’s confab (for more, please see today’s Steve Effros column). Still no word from the Bush and Kerry camps on whether the candidates will take Comcast up on its offer to include exclusive VOD material from each candidate nearer to the election. — Here! TV signed a VOD deal with TVN and began making here! TV VOD content available to affiliates last week. Up to 30 hrs/month will be available.
