Twelve months after Virgin Media started to rollout 100 Mbps broadband, the company has lit up the fiber-based broadband for a third of the United Kingdom, making it available to more than twenty million people. Virgin Media remains on track to complete the expansion across its entire network – half of the UK – by the middle of 2012. (For more, see Virgin Media Rolls Out 100 Mbps Broadband).??

Virgin Media has reported accelerating demand for faster broadband, with 178,300 more households paying for 30 Mbps or faster in the three months ending September 2011. A record proportion (54 percent) of new Virgin Media broadband customers wanted these speeds.
