For the first time, we hosted a luncheon in honor of the CableFAX 100 power list. On short notice, cable industry executives packed the Grand Hyatt’s Manhattan Ballroom on Dec. 12 to, one, find out who was on the list and where they ranked and, two, connect with each other during the holiday season in a low-key, festive atmosphere. Cash Cab‘s Ben Bailey, along with CableFAX‘s Mike Grebb and Seth Arenstein, served as emcees. In addition to giving a roll call of the 100, Grebb and Arenstein interviewed and sipped whiskey (onstage) with Jon Hamm, star of AMC’s Mad Men, and presented Green Awards to Sundance Channel and Planet Green, the Rookie of the Year Award to Retirement Living TV, the Outstanding Service Award to Tim Brooks, the MSO of the Year Award to Charter and the Lifetime Achievement Award to Bill Bresnan.
