A Cable360.net Video Exclusive CableFAX Daily Executive Editor Michael Grebb interviewed Richard Buchanan, VP of marketing at Sling Media, ahead of the 2007 Consumer Electronics Show.

Sling generated huge buzz in Las Vegas last week with announcements including SlingCatcher, which ports rich video and Web content from a PC to TV; a beta test with CBS of a new "Clip+Sling" application that allows users to share live or recorded TV clips; and winning a Technology & Engineering Emmy for the Slingbox.

Rich discusses Sling Media’s pitch to cable operators and the programming community, and shows Mike how its PC-based virtual remote control feature replicates (in this particular demo) his Comcast Bay Area remote control so he can access his home’s TV programming on the road.

An unexpected plus for cable: over 3,000 Slingboxes have been sold to operators to date just to monitor their head-ends.
