Director, Video Operations, Cox Cable
As Cox evolves its video viewing experience to be more individualized, Marts is helping to lead the charge. Just this August the operator launched its Contour personalized guide for TV programming and its accompanying iPad app, including tailored suggestions for up to eight profiles. And Marts is an executive who understands the importance of keeping in step with customer wants and needs. If she had to swap jobs? “My background is field operations, so I think it would be nice to be able to swap jobs with a field technician,” she says. “These front-line positions interact with our customers in a very personal way.”
What’s your favorite part of your job?
Each day is packed with different challenges and opportunities. It never gets boring!
How do you define success in the workplace?
Success is affecting change, enabling people and accomplishing goals.
Best trick for maintaining the personal-professional life balance?
100% effort, 100% of the time. When I’m at work, that’s my focus, but when I’m at home or with family, I dedicate my focus there. I believe it takes a happy home to be a happy and productive employee, so I concentrate on keeping family first.
Who would you want to switch jobs with for a month?
My background is field operations, so I think it would be nice to be able to swap jobs with a field technician. These front-line positions interact with our customers in a very personal way. They represent Cox’s mission “to be the most trusted provider” by installing new services or repairing issues. It’s very rewarding to experience that customer satisfaction first hand.
