Discovery Networks Latin America/U.S. Hispanic
As a result of Buzanello’s efforts to expand Discovery HD channels to Latin America, all of Discovery Networks’ HD nets are now in 21-plus countries and territories throughout Latin America and the Caribbean. Recognition for professional accomplishments is one measure of success, but Buzanello says, “Equally important to knowing you are valued is being able to contribute value, not only to the business, but also to the people who you work with.”
What’s your favorite part of your job?
Working with my team! PayTV is an evolving industry full of challenges and opportunities, which requires creative and innovative proposals and solutions.
I have an amazing group of people reporting into me, and their leadership and expertise in their areas is what makes us so successful in what we do.
How do you define success in the workplace?
When you do something you like, I believe success is a natural result of that. Success to me is being recognized by your company—knowing they value your contributions and that your colleagues and peers also value your hard work. And equally important to knowing you are valued is being able to contribute value, not only to the business, but also to the people who you work with. It’s important to be able to give back as, say a mentor, or inspire others through the work that you do.
Best trick for maintaining the personal-professional life balance?
Personal-professional life balance is always a challenge, especially for women. In my case, having a family helped me find that work-life balance; it made me put things in perspective and put my family first above all else. My focus on my family also provided a more balanced outlook for me when it comes to my career and the challenges that can arise, and it has taught me that regardless of the issue, they will somehow work themselves out in due time. Prioritizing the issue is what keeps things focused.
