The MSO already started deploying Vyyo’s T1 business products in some systems. Vyyo wants to sell Cox 3GHz passive devices, which the MSO would integrate in its next-gen architectural design (most passives in the field have a range of 1Ghz). Vyyo says it’s the only provider of the 3Ghz tech. — CableLabs approved a recording tech from EnCentrus Systems for Digital-Cable Ready (DCR) products. The "Content Protected Digital Output" tech lets cable content marked as "copy freely" or "copy once" to be securely stored on hard drives internal or external to DCR devices. — Voice-activation search and navigation developer AgileTV is changing its name to Promptu as it expands beyond the cable industry. The company has formed a mobile business, tapping Brady Bruce to oversee it.
