NDS [NNDS] won back its contract with DirecTV [DTV] in March, a development that could spell doom for TiVo [TIVO]. Throughout NDS’ 3Q conference call, pres/CEO Abe Peled and CFO Rick Medlock spoke about linking back up with the big dish company, expounding on how the partnership will help NDS’ global reach. NDS also has been candid about wishing to hook up with cable ops; at present, it provides CA tech to Cablevision [CVC] and RCN [RCNC]. NDS’ new-found association with News Corp [NWS] could get the vendor’s foot in the door at several other top MSOs, Peled said. The company posted net income of $8mln, or 14 cents a share, on revenues of $104.2mln.
