UC, Mobile Apps Added To GENBAND Portfolio
IP solutions developer GENBAND is beefing up its enterprise offerings by adding advanced Unified Communications (UC) and SIP trunking support for enterprises and their increasingly mobile workforces.
The company says it will leverage its portfolio of applications, networking and switching solutions to transition large-scale enterprise networks to an IP-based UC infrastructure. Its enterprise network solutions portfolio is powered by the A2 Communications Application Server, the S3 Intelligent Session Border Controller, the G6 Universal Gateway and the C20 Converged Softswitch plus such application suites as the GENBAND A2 Mobile Office.
Mobile Office allows workers to use their mobile phones and tablets as if they were wired directly to their business office, using the same UC features available on their desktop as well as the same dial plan, calling line ID and long distance plan as their main office phone.
Using the GENBAND Secure SIP Trunking solution, enterprises reportedly can create a private UC cloud over their existing data networks to deliver virtual PBX, federation, SIP PBX trunking and voice VPN services. “By centralizing all UC traffic and leveraging a direct IP connection to their carrier service providers, enterprises can realize as much as 40 percent savings on their voice toll charges,” company literature says.
Systems integrator Black Box Network Services is joining GENBAND’s Partner Advantage Program as a Platinum Member to help businesses to transition large-scale enterprise networks to GENBAND’s UC plans. Additionally, Black Box customers can tap into GENBAND’s GENFuzion Developer Community, an open UC application-development eco-system and application library.
