Geniatech, an OEM/ODM specialist in Android-based hardware and software solutions, teamed with Axel Technologies, the inventor of the Fuugo Platform for OTT services, to create what they say is the first Android STB for OTT. The combined unit will include several Android-based STB alternatives from Geniatech and a flexible Fuugo Platform software for cloud-managed LiveTV and VoD services. They add the same brand and user experience can be expanded to iOS and Android mobile devices for multiscreen deployment. The joint product also will include several options, starting with pre-integrated MS Playready DRM.
