Broadcom Corporation has announced that TiVo has adopted Broadcom Bluetooth technology in its advanced remote control that enables consumers to take full advantage of the features, applications and services available through TiVo Series3, TiVo HD, and TiVo Premiere boxes.

The new TiVo Slide QWERTY keyboard remote control is the first TiVo remote to feature Bluetooth, enabling comfortable text entry for search and discovery of content. With Bluetooth, the TiVo Slide remote enables consumers to enjoy a more intuitive user-experience. Using a QWERTY keyboard for text entry on the TV is becoming more and more prevalent as leading online content providers (such as Netflix, YouTube and others) transition the HD television experience in the living room.

The Broadcom BCM2042 single-chip Bluetooth solution is field proven with many video game controllers on the market, as well as in a majority of the wireless keyboards currently available.
