TiVo has announced the TiVo Premiere App for the iPad. The app will be available for free from the Apple iTunes App store in the coming weeks. The app enables viewers to search, browse, explore and share their favorite entertainment all without interrupting what is playing on their TV.

The TiVo Premiere App for iPad includes gesture based control, even the capability of dragging forward and back through a show with a simple tap or swipe.

To use the app, users must have a TiVo Premiere or TiVo Premiere XL box and an existing account with TiVo.
