According to research from In-Stat, in 2008 Thomson grew its Wi-Fi shipments by almost 60 percent over the previous year. The overall market for wireless LAN products shrank by 2.4 percent year on year in the fourth quarter. Thomson’s market share, which is concentrated in the home gateway sector, rose to almost 8 percent worldwide.
