Thomson has announced the availability of its channel-bonding cable modem, the DCM465, which is designed to enable MSOs to deliver downstream data rates of up to 100 Mbps. Certified DOCSIS 2.0-ready by CableLabs in May, the DCM465 modem’s channel-bonding capability is meant to increase the throughput for data-over-cable services. Thomson says the DCM465 offers the primary features of DOCSIS 3.0 while protecting the investment made in DOCSIS 2.0 equipment.
