— The owners of 325 Hudson have started the three-month project of building the carrier-neutral core interconnection facility located on the fiber-dense crossroads of Hudson Street and the Holland Tunnel in New York City. The building has direct access to multiple submarine cable systems, and metro and regional dark fiber providers as well as international media and broadcast networks. The construction will upgrade the building-owned and -managed Meet Me Room (MMR) to support global carrier and enterprise 100G DWDM network deployments. 325 Hudson currently is signing MMR agreements with new and existing submarine cable systems; carriers; content providers; and broadcast, media and entertainment companies.
— Ready Wireless, a San Francisco-based Mobile Virtual Network Enabler (MVNE) that powers devices, services and systems on a multicarrier wireless platform for resale to wholesale private-label customers, now is offering real-time data metering for smartphones for its MVNO partners through Telespree Communications. Telespree’s Active Session Monitoring service meters the total data usage on the smartphone by time and/or megabytes. Using this, carriers can alert subscribers that their data usage is reaching the limit, at which time they are redirected to a Web page to purchase additional data.
— The Amdocs Wi-Fi Experience Solution is a pre-integrated Wi-Fi control and monetization solution aimed at service providers that want to extend existing data services with Wi-Fi. The solution features policy-control and -authentication capabilities for subscriber onboarding and service innovation as well as a portal framework that integrates with a service provider’s existing customer-service portal and payment systems. The new offering supports Wi-Fi roaming and Wi-Fi services as an extension of a 3G, 4G or fixed data service bundle, with flexible metering options based on time, volume, speed and QoS; and it helps operators bill casual Wi-Fi users via day passes. It also can associate multiple devices to a common Wi-Fi, mobile or fixed broadband data plan.
