As content producers and distributors face increasing demands and mandates to caption content over broadcast, Web and mobile, digital media tech firm Telestream has acquired captioning software company CPC. The deal aims to enhance Telestream’s transcoding, workflow automation, live streaming and web publishing services. It also enables MacCaption for the Mac and CaptionMaker for Windows.

“Our customers at all levels need tools to author and distribute captioning in a more integrated way.” said Telestream CEO Dan Castles, calling the deal “a natural extension of what we do.” Formerly based in Rockville, MD, CPC relocated this week to Telestream’s east coast office in Sterling, VA.
