SVP, Strategy and Business Operations CMT

The top-ranking female exec at CMT, Norman oversees day-to-day operations. She helped boost programming and development teams, resulting in an increase of production by 43% this past year. And next year CMT’s on track for similar expansion. Norman says success is about devising strategies for growth. “When we hit our target, and especially when we over-deliver, that gives me a great feeling of satisfaction and accomplishment,” she says.

What’s your favorite part of your job?
By far, the best part of my job is getting to experience some of the incredible shows we create, like “CMT Crossroads.” Getting to experience Sting performing with Vince Gill up close and personal is a highlight of my career.

How do you define success in the workplace?
For me, success is about accomplishing our goals. We work hard to devise smart strategies for growth. When we hit our target, and especially when we over-deliver, that gives me a great feeling of satisfaction and accomplishment.

Who would you want to swap jobs with for a month and why?

Outside of the TV industry, I’ve recently been exposed to the field of neurology. The brain is fascinating and I would be interested in learning more about Neuroscience Research.
