E! Entertainment
From the various Kardashian series to “Fashion Police” to “E! News,” E! is an original programming powerhouse, and Kolb is its pop culture puppet-master. In fact, her favorite part of work is “the people I work with. They inspire me every day and remind me that I’m not the only complete pop culture freak.” Kolb oversaw the network’s massive brand evolution across all platforms, including new programming, a new on-air look and tagline. She also shepherded the relaunch of the Eonline web site, which now features an original web-only interview show, and an entirely new liquid advertising platform that makes ads more dynamic and impactful. Since relaunch last year, the site has been hitting its biggest traffic numbers to date.
What’s your favorite part of your job?
The people I work with. They inspire me every day and remind me that I’m not the only complete pop culture freak.
What’s been the biggest story in cable this year?
The most fun story was “Sharknado.”
How do you define success in the workplace?
Hit our numbers, excite our audience and laugh with my co-workers.
Best trick for maintaining the personal-professional life balance?
Listen to my 3-year old daughter.
Who would you want to swap jobs with for a month and why?
A formula 1 Race car driver. It would be fun to mix it up entirely and have fast pace be measured in miles-per-hour for a month and victories be in the form of laps.
