TOA Technologies

No stranger to the industry, McLaughlin worked in cable for 15 years before heading to TOA, which provides field services management solutions. This past year, she locked in several contract renewals with cable ops, including Cox and Cable One. Moving forward, she’ll continue to build relationships with providers as she works to increase productivity, reduce operational costs and enhance customer service. “My favorite part of my job is really the collaboration with our clients,” she says. “I always enjoy working with management and pushing the envelope a little to find new ways we can help them use TOA’s field service management technology to provide a fantastic customer experience.”

What’s your favorite part of your job?
My favorite part of my job is really the collaboration with our clients. I always enjoy working with management and pushing the envelope a little to find new ways we can help them use TOA’s field service management technology to provide a fantastic customer experience. My goal is to ensure that everyone is getting a better experience out of using TOA’s solution—the technicians and dispatchers, because our technology can free them up to have more time to do what they like to do. For the end customer, their lives are improved because the field tech arrived at their appointment when promised and with all of the information needed to get the job done right the first time.

How do you define success in the workplace?
From my time in cable and technology, I’ve seen that the most successful workplace environments are those where employees feel comfortable enough to not hold anything back in their work and have fun while doing it. For employees to be happy and for the business to succeed, it’s critical for people to be creative and take risks, and creating a culture that fosters that is the first step.

Best trick for maintaining the personal-professional life balance?

One thing I do to maintain that personal-professional life balance is to approach my time the same way. I schedule my personal life just like I schedule my professional life. So, if you look at my calendar, you’ll see time for me to run or swim, to see my family and to do the other things I enjoy doing. It makes achieving that balance easier, and it helps me in my professional life because I’m taking time for myself, so when it comes time to get back to work, I am happy and relaxed.
