Viacom filed its prospectus with the SEC Wed for splitting the company into 2-one company that would be led by Tom Freston and feature the MTV Nets and another that would be headed by Les Moonves and include CBS. Viacom shareholders will get half a share of the new Viacom and CBS Corp for each share they currently have. The filing didn’t include a specific date for when the breakup is expected to be complete. Viacom shares will trade under the symbols VIA and VIA.B after the split. CBS will trade as CBS.A and CBS.
