Best Advice In 7 Words Or Less: Do the right thing.
Why Him? Ahn had a stellar run at NBCU for 17 years, including the last four heading up TV networks distribution for the media giant. A newbie at Scripps since heading to Knoxville in October, he steps into to the top affiliate position at the company. It’s a nice segue from Ahn’s work during the past year to integrate NBCU and Comcast’s affiliate distribution teams and negotiate numerous distribution agreements, including a significant one with NCTC.
Nostalgic Journey: Ahn was born Seoul, Korea, and in 2008 visited Seoul for the first time where he saw the house he grew up in.
Year Ahead: At Scripps Ahn has a much smaller portfolio of networks to manage, but ones with tremendous brand value and resonance in the marketplace. He’ll have the chance to shepherd the Scripps networks across all platforms, from computers to mobile devices, while also redefining distribution on TV.
