Rita Tuzon

Title: EVP/General Counsel, Fox Networks Group

Years in Cable: 14

Education: AB, Human Biology, Stanford, JD, Boalt Hall, UC Berkeley

Best Advice: Go with your gut—after your head weighs in.

Why her? Legal matters and carriage agreements aren’t ever going away. That’s why Tuzon plays such a vital role at Fox Networks Group. She spearheads the media conglomerate’s deals with cable operators and satellite providers—like recent deals with DISH Network and Cablevision—and navigates any blips or big bumps in the road, including the recent carriage battle with DirecTV.

Streamlining: This past summer Tuzon restructured her group to bring business and legal affairs under one umbrella. The realignment was designed to focus distribution and content effort across platforms.

Year Ahead: With an ever-expanding array of distribution to ink, Tuzon will always be busy.

One topping that should never be put on a hot dog: Anything other than mustard.

Favorite restaurant: The Mustang Café in Park City, Utah

Favorite coffee order at Starbucks: Iced venti 7-pump soy chai—I live on it

Bands I would go see live: Foo Fighters, Tom Petty, Joe Satriani, Brian Setzer, Gloria Estefan. (Bands I have actually seen in the last year: Taylor Swift, Glee concert, Miley Cyrus).

Top 3 selections on my iPod: What iPod? I hate headphones. ?
