Univision Communications
With so many talented social media experts doing such innovative and creative work every day in cable, it wasn’t easy to pick this year’s Social Media Dream Team. But in the end, Univision’s Kevin Conroy, David Beck, Luciano Ibias, Carolina Valencia and remaining social media team members won the day with their recent success expanding the company’s social media activities and setting internal records in the process. Since Univision formed this Dream Team, its Facebook likes and Twitter followers are up nearly 200% while Twitter activity during live broadcasts have nearly doubled. Not only that, but this team consistently thinks outside the box, delivering the first real-time hashtag voting for an awards category during a LIVE broadcast for “Premios Juventud” and “Premio Lo Nuestro” and integrating the latest technology to bring fans exclusive view to “Premios Juventud” using Google Glass. Univision also pioneered the first-ever synchronized virtual applause to honor the late Jenni Rivera using Thunderclap and through social TV integrations during the “Premio Lo Nuestro” awards telecast. This is one stellar team. And these days, that’s saying a lot.
