SMC Networks, a provider of networking solutions for the SMB and enterprise markets, today announced it has begun shipping its new TigerAccess Extended Ethernet Switch (SMC7824M/VSW) and TigerAccess Extended Ethernet CPE (SMC7801A/VCP). The TigerAccess VDSL2 Extended Ethernet Solution for use in multi-unit environments such as hotels, office buildings and multi-dwelling unit (MDUs), enables the deployment of voice, video, and data access with bandwidth speeds up to 100Mbps over existing category 1, 2 or 3 wiring.

Ideal for use in buildings without an Ethernet wiring infrastructure, or as a replacement solution for outdated, slow VDSL1 equipment, the TigerAccess VDSL2 Extended Ethernet Solution utilizes VDSL2 technology to deliver high-bandwidth network connectivity with data transfer speeds of up to 100Mbps to support services such as HDTV streaming, video-on-demand and high-speed Internet access over existing telephone wiring infrastructure.
