Buckeye CableSystem is adding music to the mix, working with Montreal-based Stingray Digital and its Galaxie Digital Music Service.

The new offering – Galaxie, Your Musical Universe – consists of 50 uninterrupted and commercial-free digital music channels delivered by cable or IPTV directly to consumers’ homes.

In addition, Galaxie also offers a “TV Everywhere” solution for listening on the Web, on tablets and on mobile. Other Stingray Digital music services available to Buckeye CableSystem customers include the two popular VOD services” Concert TV and The KARAOKE Channel.??

“We are committed to providing our customers with the best available content, and we are certain they will enjoy the variety of channels available from Galaxie,” says Florence Buchanan, vice president/Sales and Marketing at the MSO. “The onscreen look of the different channels and the superior quality of the programming really make for a compelling music offering that will be well-appreciated by our subscribers.” ??

In separate but related news, WildBlue has tapped Exede Satellite Internet Service by ViaSat as its latest rural broadband offering. Monthly pricing starts at  $49.99 for the basic package; the only variation in packages will be the amount of data that can be downloaded/uploaded. The most basic package will offer as much as 7.5 GB of data and the most premier package will offer as much as 25 GB.
