It’s not often that Mindy Herman does anything quietly. But the former E! chief has been dabbling in the cable space since Aug ’05, when she launched a company called Wobo Media, which creates and aggregates content for broadband and wireless. Next year, Herman’s Wobo plans to launch a MySpace.com-like social network Website at MyTime.com. Herman (who wasn’t available for comment) has been working out of the L.A. offices of Shelter Capital Partners, the venture capital firm backing her Las Vegas-based start-up. Shelter’s other investments include Veoh, a Web TV outfit, and Ruckus, a campus-based digital network. Its advisors include Charter chmn Marc Nathanson and Viacom pres/CEO Tom Freston.- Shirley Brady
