“I enjoy my job at Starz as much as I did when I joined the company in its early days back in 1992,” says Anderson. She earns praise for developing the culture and HR tone at the evolving network, and she earned her EVP stripes this July. Anderson is responsible for the human resources functions for approximately 1,100 employees from the combined Starz Entertainment and Starz Media entities, yet finds time to remain a devoted board member of the Cable Television Human Resources Assn.

What’s your favorite part of your job?
I enjoy my job at Starz as much as I did when I joined the company in its early days back in 1992. I have true affection for the industry and its people. Having the opportunity to develop employees to be productive for the company and successful in their careers is my favorite part of the job and truly rewarding.
How do you define success in the workplace?
Crafting a structure to enable and tap into employees’ passion plus engagement provides great opportunities to grow revenues for our business, which ultimately leads to success for everyone. At Starz, we historically have well below average turnover relative to the industry, the state of Colorado, and the nation at-large.
Best trick for maintaining the personal-professional life balance?

Having a good team and an abundance of quality and effective communication. This issue particularly strikes home for me, as I had a second child at the age of 46 (21 years after my first). We all make sacrifices in our personal life due to work commitments, however the need for balance is a particularly precious one for me.
