As one of the most influential people in documentary filmmaking, Nevins has developed a slate of programming that ranges from the serious to the seamy. During more than three decades with HBO, she has produced almost 500 documentaries, including Spike Lee’s inside look at Hurricane Katrina and its aftermath. She started her filmmaking career with the U.S. Information Agency, a foreign affairs agency that promoted U.S. interests overseas.
