The Society of Cable Telecommunications Engineers (SCTE) announced that a multi-screen video streaming solution from SeaChange International was named the “Technology Most Likely to Succeed” following the annual Technology Challenge at the SCTE Canadian Summit.

The SeaChange solution was one of five products and solutions demonstrated at the Technology Challenge this morning. All five have been designed to expand the capabilities of cable network architectures to reach new platforms and deliver new services. The winner was selected by SCTE Canadian Summit attendees using mobile text messaging.

SeaChange showed how VOD can be expanded to serve video to multiple screens. The SeaChange demonstration featured on-demand and linear streaming to multiple screens including smartphone, PC, iPad and set-top. The presentation showed how operators can envision and plan for multi-screen services while illustrating the benefits of adding multi-screen delivery to existing platforms.
