CableFAX favorite Bill Bridgen is stepping down as president of HRTV, the network will announce today. No immediate word on a successor. His duties will be split between the network’s management team svp, distribution Jim Bates and svp, ops Dan Finnerty. Bridgen plans to take some time off before re-emerging. "I want to get back into the mainstream sports business, which is where I have my personal passion," he said. "I built HRTV into a viable independent network, which is difficult to do in this day and age." During his tenure, HRTV gained distribution in 11.5mln HHs.
