Dialog Telecom, Poland’s second-largest independent telecommunications operator, has launched its new IPTV service using a video distribution network based on Scopus Video Networks’ gear.

At the core of Dialog’s new IPTV video distribution network is the Scopus Eldorado NMS (Network Management System), designed to offer redundancy and a centralized view of the entire network to simplify troubleshooting and help Dialog engineers maintain consistent, high-quality transmissions for 24 channels. Scopus’ IRD-2900 series of integrated receiver/decoders receive satellite video feeds carrying both Polish and international content. Scopus UE-9000 encoders then provide local content encoding for distribution of the video to viewers’ homes over IP. The IPTV network was installed by SATLAN, a systems integrator serving the IPTV and cable industries in Poland.
