CED Publisher and Editorial Director Roger Brown passed away from cancer in October of last year, but Brown’s friends, along with members of the cable industry, are raising money for his family by taking part in an upcoming marathon. Brown gave 19 years of his career to the cable industry; now it’s cable’s turn to give back to his family. The Marine Corps Marathon is slated for Oct. 29 in Washington D.C. Leslie Ellis, Dwight Witherspoon/Tandberg, Tom Brooksher/NCTI, Mark Francisco/Comcast, Carolyn Carganilla/Comcast, Jim Poder/Comcast, Tom Robey/Time Warner Cable, Leslie Spasser/Weather Channel, Dan Lowe/Tellabs (running in the Chicago marathon), and Doug Jones/BigBand Networks are raising money for Brown’s wife and four kids by running in marathons. As of this morning, they’re $5,000 away from their goal of $40,000.
